Important Notice: EU to Abolish Tariff Exemption for Parcels Under €150

Dear Koopbuy User,

Greetings! We have been notified by our logistics partners that the European Union will officially implement a new tariff policy effective July 1, 2026, abolishing the current customs duty exemption for parcels valued under €150. The key provisions and impacts of the new regulation are as follows:

I. New Tariff Calculation Rules (Applicable to parcels entering the EU on or after July 1, 2026)

  1. Basis of Calculation: Tariffs will be determined solely by the product’s 6-digit HS code, categorized by product type—not by the number of parcels or quantity of items.
  2. Tariff Rate: A fixed tariff of €3 will be charged per distinct HS code category.
  3. Stacking Rules:

For multiple identical items with the same HS code within a single parcel, the €3 tariff will be charged only once.

For parcels containing multiple different HS code categories, the tariff will be stacked cumulatively based on the number of categories.

  1. Calculation Examples:

Parcel containing only T-shirts (single HS code) → Tariff = €3

Parcel containing T-shirts + Shoes (two different HS codes) → Total tariff = €6

II. Tariff Payment Instructions

  1. Postal or Express Shipping Lines: The €3 tariff per HS code category will be borne by the recipient (you).
  2. Duty-Free Shipping Lines: Logistics providers plan to begin pre-collecting tariffs on parcels submitted from June 22, 2026, at the fixed rate of €3 per distinct HS code category.

III. Special Recommendations

Given that the tax reform is imminent, if you have any parcels destined for the EU that you plan to ship in the near future, we strongly advise submitting them as early as possible to avoid the new tariffs and any potential subsequent shipping cost increases. Additionally, parcels already submitted that enter an EU country after July 1, 2026, will also be subject to the applicable tariffs.

Reminders:

1.Provisional EU tariffs, once levied, are non-refundable, non-adjustable, and no customs duty receipts will be provided.

2.For parcels sent to countries such as France, Romania, Italy, etc., local customs may impose additional tariffs. The specific amount will be based on the customs duty receipt issued by the local authorities.
